Laurie joined Hatch Private Maternity in 2021 after working for 19 years in major tertiary adult hospitals and the Royal Childrens’ Hospital as a Registered Nurse and Endorsed Midwife.
Encouragement from a friend to study midwifery together cemented her passion for what rang true – families, babies and woman centered care.
Over the last 14 years, Laurie has split her time between the Mater Mothers' Birth Suite and at Eve Health supporting families within the private sector. This has included consulting, teaching antenatal classes, breastfeeding support, and facilitating parents' groups.
Laurie enjoys supporting women through the continuum of pregnancy and the postnatal period and the continuity of care Hatch Private Maternity offers families.
In her downtime, Laurie balances her work with her three children and the many sports and adventures they are exploring now that they are all in school.
