Our process

Hatch Private Maternity offers a team-based approach to maternity care, so that women can access obstetricians and midwives and benefit from the expertise of each. Our team works closely together to provide quality and supportive maternity care.

Endorsed midwives have undertaken additional study and training. This further qualification means that the midwives at Hatch can write referrals, order blood tests and scans, and provide a Medicare rebate at each of your appointments.

Many of our midwives also work in the birthing suites and Pregnancy Assessment Centre at Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane, as well as consulting at Hatch.

Our obstetricians are highly experienced Mater Mothers specialists who work on a rotating roster at Hatch.

This means that you won’t be able to choose your own obstetrician with us, but rest assured that the on-call Hatch obstetrician will be by your side during your baby’s birth.
